With everyone having left after viewing the memorial service video, Cathy is alone at the church to wrap up some work before going home. She sighs as she realizes the time she has been waiting for so long (having the boys & Michelle back, etc.) has finally arrived & now she can look toward taking a trip home to Nashville TN. She logs onto the computer to check eMail. The only new message is the 1 from Bette. Cathy is rather shocked-amazed at Bette’s willingness to put up a reward to find the boys & Michelle, & Cathy tells Bette so in her reply. Cathy types to Bette she (Cathy) is very grateful she has such a wonderful friend who cares enough about her & her family to be willing to put up such an enormous amount of money to bring them back to her. Cathy then writes that, with that said, she (Cathy) is happy to report everyone has been found, complete with an explanation of what all happened. After finishing & sending her eMail to Bette, Cathy then writes an eMail to Virgil & Cheryl Camden, telling them of her wishes to take a trip home to Nashville & asking if they’d be willing to come to Manchester AZ to allow Virgil to be the interim pastor while she is away. Cathy acknowledges how hard it might be for them to return to Hope COB, but she strongly feels it will be a good way to work through & put to rest whatever issues they may still feel. Once finished, Cathy sends the eMail, logs off & shuts down her computer. As Cathy leaves the office & turns off the lights, she sighs again when she catches a glimpse of Michael’s picture on her desk.
Finally out of bed, Pierce & Suzanne begin to discuss how to bring Suzanne’s Mercury Grand Marquis to Manchester AZ. Suzanne suggests they drive together to get it, but Pierce disagrees for 2 reasons: 1-he doesn’t want to put more miles on his car & 2-they both can’t go because they need to keep an eye on Jake’s place. So, Suzanne suggests 1 of them fly home & drive the car back. Pierce thinks about Suzanne’s idea out loud, saying perhaps Suzanne better do it. But, Suzanne reminds Pierce she is the 1 of them that has some “clout” in Manchester, since she is Jake’s relative, a point Pierce concedes. But, Pierce quickly tells Suzanne he is not comfortable leaving her alone in Manchester. Suzanne retorts she would not be comfortable leaving HIM alone in Manchester, either. So, Pierce begrudgingly agrees to fly back home to pick up the car….
In his office at the police station, Steve goes through his case files. Case #1 is labeled “Laura’s Disappearance”. He marks it closed, noting the case was “solved” when Erika “confessed” to paying Laura to leave town & no charges will be filed against Erika even though nobody knows where Laura has gone. Case #2 is labeled “Non-Fatal Collision”. Steve marks this closed as well, noting Michelle would not be ticketed or charged, given the circumstances. Case #3 is labeled “Missing Boys”. Steve also marks this closed, noting some evidence was stolen & has yet to be recovered. Case #4 is labeled “Fatal Collision”. Steve reads the notes he made, including the report about the possibility of foul play in terms of tampering with Michael’s 2005 GMC Yukon Denali (Suburban). Because of that, Steve places the file in his “open” drawer. Case #5 is labeled “Bomber Released”. Steve reviews his notes, remembering the prison official telling him they could not release the name of the person who paid her bail. Steve adds the file to his “open” drawer. Case #6 is labeled “Wendleton’s Death”. Steve quickly scribbles on the folder they must search for the young man who was with Wendleton at the Chateau Louise when Wendleton was shot. Steve places the file in his “open” drawer & glances at his watch. Steve decides he now has enough time yet in the day to get his 1976 Monte Carlo out for a drive.
