Donnie, Michelle, Barry & Adam (in that order) are questioned separately by Steve. In these sessions, the boys reveal their ordeal (running away from school; being picked up by Troc; finding themselves trapped in Michelle’s office; watching Wendleton get shot at the Chateau Louise). Michelle explains how she became involved (overhearing a conversation between Troc & Wendleton in an alley). Michelle also answers questions about the collision she caused, saying she thought she’d seen the boys. When Adam is questioned, he admits they saw both collisions … the 1 caused by Michelle & the collision in which Matthew & Michael were killed … causing Steve to realize Michelle was not hallucinating after all. Adam continues, saying he knew who was involved in the fatal collision, but had no idea what happened. As Steve leads the boys & Michelle back to the main area, everyone turns to watch them enter. Steve announces they are free to go, noting Michelle will not face charges, considering she did see the boys right before the accident. Steve adds that charges will be pressed against Troc & Wendleton for their part in the kidnapping plot & the truth about “why” this all happened will come out. Desmond hides his feelings by keeping a “stone” face, while others are quite relieved, yet anxious that the 2 are brought to the police station for questioning & booking. Several start to ask questions, but Steve tells them he will answer questions later. As everyone prepares to leave, Cathy suggests they go to the church to view the tape of Michael’s & Matthew’s memorial service of the benefit of the boys & Michelle.
All of a sudden, Wendleton wakes up & squeezes Vicky’s hand. She screams (in happiness) & moves to call for a nurse, but Wendleton pulls her back, telling her not to rush off … he does not have much time. Vicky shakes her head, saying “no”, while her eyes begin to fill with tears, but Wendleton tells her it will be OK … she just has to settle down & listen to him carefully. Obediently, Vicky sits back down & listens intently to Wendleton, who tells her he knows she & Troc have been sleeping together. Vicky begins to protest & deny it, but Wendleton cuts her off, asking: “How could you think I wouldn’t know? Don’t you know me better?” Vicky lets loose a slight giggle, telling Wendleton, yes, she should have known. Wendleton continues, telling Vicky to stay with Troc now, more than ever, because he will need her. Vicky nods in agreement, though she is not sure why Troc will need her. Then, Wendleton tells Vicky her mother is a patient at the hospital, too, & she (Vicky) needs to find her & be with her because she will be the only family Vicky has left. Vicky is quite startled by the revelation & shows it in her face. Wendleton, answering Vicky’s unspoken question, tells Vicky he knows this because he (Wendleton) is her (Vicky’s) father. Vicky is in relative shock now; she knew Wendleton was of some relation to her, but had no idea Wendleton was her Dad. Vicky stumbles to ask who her mother is, but before Wendleton can answer, Wendleton feels a great deal of pain, goes unconscious & flat lines. Vicky races to get a nurse.
Desmond, Virginia, Carl, Christine, Amy, Richie, Cathy, Erika & Timothy join Adam, Barry, Donnie & Michelle at the church to watch the tape of the memorial service for Michael & Matthew. They mourn the deaths as they watch the tape. {For a refresh of the memorial service, check out this entry via THIS LINK HERE.}
