What catches your spying-eye radar!?

I watched this movie with a close friend a few months ago & really enjoyed it. Debuting in theaters on my 7th birthday, 09/19/1980, ‘Ordinary People’ marked the directorial debut of actor Robert Redford. Alvin Sargent wrote the screenplay based on the 1976 novel of the same name by Judith Guest. Taking place in suburban Chicago (Lake Forest IL), this drama film was critically acclaimed & was a box office success. It won 4 Academy Awards (including Best Picture & Best Director) & 5 Golden Globe Awards (including Best Motion Picture – Drama & Best Director). The cast includes: Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore (marking her breakout from roles like Laura Petrie on “The Dick Van Dyke Show” & Mary Richards on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”), Judd Hirsch (a departure from his work on “Taxi”), Timothy Hutton, Elizabeth McGovern, M Emmet Walsh, Dinah Manoff (later on “Empty Nest”), Fredric Lehne, James B Sikking (“Hill Street Blues”), Basil Hoffman, Quinn Redeker, Mariclare Costello, Meg Mundy, Elizabeth Hubbard (“As The World Turns”), Adam Baldwin, Richard Whiting, Tim Clarke & Scott Doebler.
