2 songs from the 3rd hour (9p-10p) of my 04/20/1996 college radio “The Saturday Evening Mostly Country Music Show”:
#1
“Bed Of Rose’s”
Statler Brothers
[For more info about this group & to see another song of theirs, check out the #2 song in the 07/30/2016 “CarTunes Saturday” entry via THIS LINK HERE.]
This song debuted 11/21/1970, spent 17 weeks on the charts & peaked at #9 in early 1971. At the time, it was only their 4th Top 10 tune in their 1st 9 releases, including 1965-6’s “Flowers On The Wall” (#2, 4 weeks), 1967’s “Ruthless” (#10) & 1967’s “You Can’t Have Your Kate & Edith, Too” (#10). None of their other 5 tunes released in that stretch reached even the Top 25.
