FYI: while this theme includes 3 ongoing writings (& 1 completed), “Face In The Crowd” will continue for the foreseeable future. Unlike “Face In The Crowd” (which I’m publishing here by further writing & adapting from story arcs & characters a friend & I created over 20 years ago), I don’t have a ‘bible’ per se for my Route-66 based story & “The Newspaper Limo”. &, since it has been ~2 years since I’ve added plots to either of those 2, I need to take some time to review & refresh my memory of storylines I want to continue-work. Both will see new entries soon.

Christine & Erika exchange “pleasantries”. Once Erika has left, Christine gives Amy a hug as Amy begins to tremble from exhaustion, etc. Amy tells Christine that she (Amy) wishes Matthew was still here because he would help her get through all of this. Christine’s interest sparked, Christine asks Amy what she is talking about. Amy explains to Christine what happened with Erika at Jake’s place, the people who are now living there, Jake has left town, etc. Comforting Amy & trying to make Amy feel better, Christine tells Amy what all has been happening with her … she & Carl seem to be “mending fences” en route to a reconciliation, but since she believes Tammy is behind the boys current disappearance & Carl does not agree with her, their relationship is still strained.
Steve arrives at the Chateau Louise just as Desmond exits his car. Steve asks Desmond what he is doing there; Desmond says he plans to ask his wife that very question. Meanwhile, Virginia tells the realtor that she (Virginia) has an appointment & leaves in a hurry out the back; Wendleton & Troc have taken the boys & Michelle out of the van.
Bailey & Camille arrive at Carl’s office, only to be told by the secretary that Carl has phoned ahead & expressed his regret: he will be unable to speak with them right away & they will have to reschedule. Bailey & Camille leave to go eat at Jackie’s Restaurant.
Pierce arrives back to find Suzanne still puzzled. Suzanne tells Pierce about her encounter with Mack; Pierce tells Suzanne not to worry about it anymore tonight. Pierce suggests they go out to eat to get their minds off everything. Pierce tells Suzanne about this nice restaurant … Jackie’s … that will be the perfect setting for a romantic dinner for 2.
Ready for a reconciliation, Richie tells Julia he loves her, but she shoots back: “Then why are you chasing after Erika!?” Richie tells Julia that is all over … Erika confessed her part in Laura’s disappearance. Expecting to be instantly reunited with his beloved, Richie goes to hug Julia, but Julia pushes Richie away saying she doesn’t believe him, noting he went ahead with his plan to sweet talk Erika even though she asked him not to. Taken by surprise, Richie takes a quick step back, admitting he was wrong, but that Erika means nothing to him … he loves only her (Julia) & this means they are free to get back together. But, Julia tells Richie coldly they cannot because she does not trust him. With that, Julia turns & leaves the police station.
The realtor comes out the front entrance of the Chateau Louise, & Desmond asks regarding Virginia’s whereabouts. The realtor tells Desmond that Virginia hurried out the back entrance en route to another appointment. With that, Steve & Desmond hurry back towards the side of the building near the back entrance & immediately spot the van. Steve asks Desmond if that is why he is really here, & Desmond admits it, explaining he was following the van because he believes whoever is driving it has the boys & Michelle, but at this point, the only important thing is finding Virginia. As Steve & Desmond get to the back door, they both see the boys, Michelle, Troc & Wendleton standing at the doorway with Virginia standing frozen in her tracks at the entryway. Steve pulls out his gun (deadpanning to Desmond “I thought you said it wasn’t important”) & yells: “Freeze, police!” at which Wendleton whips around drawing his gun. Michelle ducks, pulling the boys down with her to get out of the line of fire. Virginia cannot do anything but scream as Troc moves towards her. Steve yells to Wendleton to drop the gun, but Wendleton refuses, telling Steve he cannot do that. Suddenly, shots are fired & Wendleton falls to the ground. In the confusion, Troc makes himself scarce.
Pierce & Suzanne are enjoying a romantic, candlelit dinner for 2. As they stare into each others’ eyes, Pierce tells Suzanne how much he loves her & how much he wants her. Suzanne just smiles a ‘knowing’ smile & tells Pierce she loves him. They toast each other & sip champagne. Just as Suzanne is suggesting to Pierce that they go home for a little “fun”, Bailey & Camille walk in. Finishing his drink, Pierce sees Bailey & begins coughing. Not knowing why Pierce is choking, Suzanne playfully tells Pierce he’s never been ‘choked up’ about ‘fun’ before. As horror-fear creeps into Pierce’s mind, Pierce brushes off the incident by telling Suzanne the champagne simply went down the wrong pipe. Oblivious to her husband’s attitude change (Suzanne is too busy thinking about her sparked desire), Suzanne replies to Pierce with “yeah, sure” & suggests they go ‘get started’ on the rest of their evening. Pierce quickly agrees, gets up, hurriedly leaves money on the table & ushers Suzanne out the door. As Pierce & Suzanne walk past Bailey & Camille, Suzanne & Camille say “hello & good evening” to each other. But, Pierce looks away as if he does not notice Bailey & Camille. For a brief second, Bailey thinks he recognizes the fellow passing him, but since Pierce turns away, Bailey does not get a good look. Bailey forgets the incident & leads Camille to a table.
