I saw this recently with a close friend & thoroughly enjoyed it. ‘RV’ (also known as ‘Runaway Vacation’) is a family comedy directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, produced by Lucy Fisher & Douglas Wick, & written by Geoff Rodkey. Filmed between late May 2005 & December 2005 in the Vancouver & southern Alberta areas, the movie was released 04/28/2006 &, despite unfavorable reviews, finished #1 in the box office its opening weekend. Overall, the film grossed $87.5 million vs. a budget of $50 million. The soundtrack (with score written by James Newton Howard) featured several members of the Lyle Lovett Band, Take 6’s Alvin Chea as solo vocalist, & several songs: “GTO”, “Route 66”, “Cherry Bomb” & “Stand By Your Man”. The movie won the Worst Excuse For Family Entertainment Golden Raspberry Award. The cast included: Robin Williams, Cheryl Hines, Joanna Levesque, Josh Hutcherson, Jeff Daniels, Kristin Chenoweth, Hunter Parrish, Chloe Sonnenfeld, Alex Ferris, Will Arnett, Brendan Fletcher, Matthew Gray Gubler, Barry Sonnenfeld, Richard Ian Cox, Rob LaBelle, Brian Markinson & Ty Olsson.
