Welcome to the new “Wayback Wednesday” theme, which replaces “Thursday Throwback” (all posts seen via THIS LINK HERE) & “Friday Flashback” (all posts seen via THIS LINK HERE).

The building in this 1980s photo is the inspiration for part of the storyline in my serial “Face In The Crowd” (read via THIS LINK HERE). The Chateau Louise stood along IL RT 31 in W Dundee IL, in the southwest corner of the intersection with Willow Ln (west side) & Strom Dr (east side). The scene for many memorable happenings in the 1960s & 1970s, with a quite historic life, the complex developed from a small barn, to a 17-room motel, to a 22-acre resort complete with 4 distinctive restaurants, 5 bars (3 with entertainment), a dinner theater, pool, shops & banquet facilities for 500 people.
