3rd of 3 in an OC,SH original series, 1 of each of the “Big 3” (GM, Ford, Mopar), of the 1st 3 years of the 1960s: 1960, 1961 & 1962. All 3 are from the adult classic car coloring book from Nephew, colored by me with the colored pencils from Niece #1, 1st featured in the 01/25/2016 “Monday Night Fun” (seen via THIS LINK HERE) & subsequently featured in the 03/07/2016 “Monday Night Fun” (seen via THIS LINK HERE ), the 05/20/2016 “Daily Deals” (seen via THIS LINK HERE) & the 04/20/2017 “Thursday Throwback” (seen via THIS LINK HERE).
The series continues with the 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL. [The prior 2 are the 1960 Corvette (seen via THIS LINK HERE) & the 1961 Chrysler (seen via THIS LINK HERE)!] Which of these 3 is your favorite?
From the blurb at the bottom of the image: “Ford Motors’ answer to Chevy’s popular Impala SS ‘409’ was the Galaxie 500 XL, pictured above in a convertible model. This full-sized muscle car was available in a range of big V-8 engines. Introduced in 1961, the Galaxie 500 was available with a 390 cubic-inch powerplant producing 375 hp & a single 4-barrel carburetor, or with a 401 hp using 3 2-barrel carbs. In 1962, the Galaxie 500 XL was offered with an engine increased to 406 cubic-inches. Again offered with 2 types of carburetion, the single 4-barrel version kicked out 385 hp, while the triple-carb model produced a mighty 405 hp. Another increase in engine size & power came in 1963 with the introduction of the 427 cubic-inch engine. This powerplant cranked out 410 hp in the 3 2-barrel carb version & 425 hp with twin 4-barrels.”
