“Am I more than just the sum of every high & every low? Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know!”

That line is in a song a friend shared with me earlier this week. It struck me because for the last 12 months (& more) I’ve been wondering just who I am. I’ve written in prior entries how we find a little bit more of ourselves in each experience, good or bad, & I whole-heartily believe that. Life is a journey: sometimes too long, other times way too fast. I’d like to think everyone figures out exactly who they are, but I’m not sure that is the case.

A few years ago, I knew exactly who I was. Now, many changes since, I’m not so sure. & yet…. Many experiences in my past feel like a lifetime ago, or even someone else’s life. I’d bet most, if not all, of you can identify with that phenomenon in some way, shape or form. Point is: we are way more than the sum of our highs & lows. The in-betweens, the elevator up, the escalator down … all contribute lessons which shape us & remind us who we are.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
