NOTES

#1, I am sorry I have not had enough “computer time” to interact with YOU & your posts, OC,SHers.  I WILL at some point, though I do not know when.

#2, the official OC,SH Beef Villa Cruise Nights CONTINUE!  Please see details & photos via THIS LINK HERE.  Will I see you THIS Saturday?

#3, anyone or any company interested in sponsoring OC,SH?  IF (costly) data recovery was successful (will know soon), a return to the full schedule will happen later this month.  Since posts ended abruptly on a Tuesday, I’m thinking of re-starting on a Wednesday, with a full week of “season premieres” beginning the following Monday.  More to come, so stay tuned!

I originally created this OC,SH original collage for a special “Quantum Leap” entry last year.  The photo of me on the left was taken by the late Gary Turner in Paris Springs MO; I took the photo on the right in Springfield MO.  Both images were taken 09/07/2009 during Day 3 of my Route 66 road trip.  Today, 09/08, was my 4th day on the road.

Like that collage, going through my papers in my file cabinets has reminded me of many people: some no longer with us, some I’ve lost touch with & literally have no idea where they are, some that meant to the world to me once upon a time, some that still mean the world to me, some whom I hope to reach out to attempting to reconnect, & some who will always remain special in my mind no matter what happened.  Each of these has given me new “food for thought” about connections & life in general.  I dare not try to put into words all of those thoughts, mostly because I’m still processing them myself.  Extra time to think is not always a good thing, eh!?

That noted, life is a funny whirlwind of activity with many people entering & exiting our lives.  Our circles are ever changing & that patchwork of people helps define us as we keep moving forward.  I’ve mentioned it before, & I’ll write it again: interact with those who mean something to you NOW while you still can.

An interesting side note, circling back to Route 66.  While my awesome Route 66 journey took place 8 years ago right now, 9 years before that I had a bit of exposure to the Mother Road.  In reviewing my files, I found documentation from a district conference I attended in 2000; that conference was held in Virden IL, a Route 66 town just south of Springfield IL along Rt 4.  Sadly, back then, I wasn’t fully aware of America’s Main Street, & I’m not even sure I would’ve fully appreciated if I’d really known.  Perhaps more proof everything has a season & a method to the madness of life exists!?
