Carl & Tammy arrive at Olivia’s room at nearly the same time. Carl, noticing Tammy arriving, quickly advises her to wait outside while he goes in to examine Olivia. Carl confers with the nurse & then asks Olivia some questions, all of which she answers incorrectly. Carl emerges from Olivia’s room & tells Tammy: Olivia has amnesia. Defiant, Tammy opts to go see Olivia anyway; but, predictably, Olivia does not recognize Tammy. Once again, Olivia asks for “Gary”, but Carl & Tammy have no clue about the person for which Olivia is asking. When Carl & Tammy ask Olivia to describe or tell them more about this “Gary”, Olivia shrugs & stares at them blankly.
Before leaving the hospital, Mack calls the police station to talk to Steve; Mack is told Steve is not available. So, Mack decides to go to the church to see Cathy. En route, he passes Jake’s home & spots the expensive car in the driveway, though he does not notice the license plates. Wondering who could be visiting Jake, Mack briefly considers stopping, but opts to continue to the church. Mack settles his mind by thinking perhaps Cathy will have an idea who is visiting Jake.
Troc wakes the boys & tells them Adam’s & Barry’s sister (& Donnie’s aunt), Michelle, needs help. Troc says he will allow them to go help her, as long as they go straight to her office, with him (Troc) close behind. Adam is skeptical, but Donnie & Barry pressure him to go along with it. Adam agrees because he feels he has no choice, but he is keenly aware something is wrong.
Suzanne tries calling Jake’s cell phone number, but the message indicates it is no longer in service. Thinking she must have entered the wrong #, Suzanne re-enters it, calls again, but receives the same confusing message. She checks her text messages & notices the message she sent to Jake did go through to the same #. Becoming exasperated & extremely upset with Jake, Pierce decides to leave the house, telling Suzanne he has to run errands to plan their evening rendezvous. Suzanne watches intently as Pierce’s Lincoln LS travels out of sight. As soon as she cannot see it any longer, Suzanne reaches for the phone & dials another number, but the message indicates the number has been disconnected. Undaunted, Suzanne tries calling the 2nd # again, but receives the same results. She slams down her phone &, now quite disturbed, mutters to herself: “What’s happened, Jake!?”
Mack arrives at the church just as Cathy is saying goodbye to Bette. Mack asks Cathy about Jake’s visitor(s), & Cathy tells Mack she has no idea who is visiting Jake. Cathy & Mack talk more, with Cathy suggesting to Mack that perhaps bringing Laura back is not the way to prove that Jake is his (Mack’s) grandson. Mack tells Cathy he will keep that in mind & review it later. Mack leaves & heads back to his place by way of Jake’s & notices the expensive car is no longer in Jake’s driveway. So, Mack decides to stop to see if Jake is home.
(vehicles: Pierce’s Lincoln LS, Tammy’s Toyota Camry, Troc’s Chevelle, Cathy’s Saturn & interior of Mack’s Impala)
