‘3 Men & A Baby’ is a comedy that debuted in theaters 11/25/1987, ~2 months after “Jake & The Fatman” featured in this week’s “TV Tuesday” (see it via THIS LINK HERE) hit the small screen. Written by Jim Cruickshank & James Orr, the script was based on the 1985 French film ‘3 Men & A Cradle’. Directed by Leonard Nimoy & produced by Ted Field & Robert W Cort, the movie opened to mostly-positive reviews & became the biggest box office hit of the year, surpassing ‘Fatal Attraction’. So far, this motion picture has enjoyed 1 sequel: 1990’s ‘3 Men & A Little Lady’. 7 years ago (June 2010), Disney was interested in a 3rd film in the series, tentatively ‘3 Men & A Bride’, but seems it is still “in development”. This movie was referenced in at least 2 TV shows (“In Living Color” & “Home Improvement”) & 1 movie (2009’s ‘The Hangover’), while it has also been compared to a similar TV show that debuted 2 months prior, 09/20/1987, “My 2 Dads” [featured in the 01/17/2017 “TV Tuesday” entry, seen via THIS LINK HERE]. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, Ted Danson, Michelle & Lisa Blair, Nancy Travis, Margaret Colin, Celeste Holm, Alexandra Amini, Peter Brown, Francine Beers, Philip Bosco, Paul Guilfoyle, Earl Hindman, Barbara Budd, Michael Burgess, Claire Cellucci, Eugene Clark, Derek de Lint, Jacob Strackeljahn, Jeff Kinglsey, Dave Foley & Cynthia Harris.
