Technically produced 1980-1991, this Junkyard Jewel is guestimated to be 1 of the last made, a 1989-1991 model, of the revered Ford LTD Crown Victoria nameplate. With Ford’s 1983 model realignment, all full-size sedans received the LTD Crown Victoria moniker, to help distinguish it from the mid-size LTD. Previously, the LTD had been the full-size model. Then, with the 1992 redesign of the full-size models, Ford dropped the “LTD” & returned to the familiar Ford Crown Victoria, which had been part of the Ford Fairlane family, 1955-56. To perhaps further confuse the issue, the Crown Victoria nameplate was introduced in 1980 as the luxury trim package for the then all-new Ford LTD, replacing the LTD Landau model. Got all that!?
