This record (which I own on vinyl) features 8 tunes. Side A has 1985’s “Let The Heartache Ride” (#23, their debut single), 1985’s “I Want Everyone To Cry” (#10, their 2nd release & 1st Top 10 tune), 1985-6’s “Heartbreak Kid” (#7) & the unreleased “Restless Heart”. Side B features the unreleased “She’s Coming Home”, 1986’s “Til I Loved You” (#10) & 2 more unreleased tunes: “Shakin’ The Night Away” & “She Danced Her Way”.
FEATURE SONG # 1:
“Let The Heartache Ride”
From the moment I heard this tune on the radio, I was hooked by & with this band, which is why I bought their debut album; I like every song on it, which made choosing songs to feature a bit difficult. However, I HAD to feature this song, since it is the song that grabbed my attention immediately, with the up-beat, fast-paced melody & the I’m-going-to-help-you mentality. Debuting 01/26/1985, this song spent 16 weeks on the county charts & peaked at #23. Not bad for a debut single, but not nearly as high as it should’ve been….
FEATURE SONG #2:
“Restless Heart”
How cool is this? The title track of the band’s self-titled debut album! This song, a slower, unreleased ballad, showcases this group’s range, which became evident, despite their short career. This tune is 1 of my favorites from the album because of its title uniqueness & the idea of feeling restless, something with which I identify very easily, considering the road is my home….
FEATURE SONG #3:
“She’s Coming Home”
I’ve mentioned before 1 of my favorite aspects of hosting my radio shows was playing songs not released to radio. That’s partly why I chose 2 unreleased songs to feature here: the above selection & this tune, another upbeat song that tells the story of looking forward to a loved one returning. I think both of these 2 should’ve been singles from the album.
