Do you remember this series!?
What catches your spying-eye radar!?

“Bewitched” is a fantasy sitcom that ran for 8 seasons on ABC, 09/17/1964 to 03/25/1972, created by Sol Saks (though he didn’t have anything to do with the show after the pilot) & under executive director Harry Ackerman. The series takes place in either Westport CT or Patterson NY, depending on which information in different episodes you believe. The featured house, at 1164 Morning Glory Circle, is a replicated reverse blueprint design of the house at 267 18th St in Santa Monica CA, the setting for the movie ‘Gidget’. The patio & living room sets are adaptations from those used in 1963’s ‘Gidget Goes To Rome’; the “Bewitched” interior can then be seen unaltered in the 1969 Jerry Lewis movie ‘Hook, Line & Sinker’. Other sets from “Bewitched” can be seen on “The Monkees”, “I Dream Of Jeannie” (ironically, the series developed as a rival to “Bewitched”), “Home Improvement”, “The Donna Reed Show” & “The Partridge Family”. Snappy writing, the charm of the main actress & the large, talented supporting cast are credited with the series’ popularity, launching it to become the top show on ABC in its 1st season & 2nd in ratings that same year only to “Bonanza”. Its slot between “My 3 Sons” & “Peyton Place” made Thursdays ABC’s strongest ratings grabber. Other tie-ins include story lines repeated from “I Love Lucy”, a spinoff with a 1965 “Flintstones” episode, a short-lived spin-off series (ABC’s “Tabitha” starring Lisa Hartman in 1977) & a 2005 movie. The cast includes Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick York, Dick Sargent, Agnes Moorehead, David White, Alice Pearce, Sandra Gould, George Tobias, Irene Vernon, Kasey Rogers, Marion Lorne, Alice Ghostley & Maurice Evans.
