Michelle tells Troc she tried to call her husband & her parents, with no luck of reaching them. (Michelle does not tell him what happened when she called the Rockingham Mansion.) Troc tells Michelle to forget the experience of not reaching her loved ones, rest & let him handle everything. Troc is even kind enough to offer her sleeping pills so she can rest easier. Michelle, having no strength to fight or argue with Troc, relents & Troc more or less forces the pills down Michelle’s throat with water. Michelle quickly falls asleep, & Troc is quite pleased with the time he now has to do other things. He rips the wires off the phone so Michelle cannot call out, if she would wake up. Troc leaves the room & carefully locks the door to ensure no one will enter the office.

Jake hugs Suzanne & greets her with a “hello, cuz”. Suzanne seems excitingly happy to see Jake. Jake shakes Pierce’s hand & tells him he better be taking good care of Suzanne. Pierce says he is. Suzanne interrupts these pleasantries to ask Jake what on earth has him so unnerved. Jake explains what is happening back in Manchester AZ … Matthew-Michael’s fatal collision & how he has a hunch foul play is involved with evidence pointing to him; Erika & her baby, which she claims is Jake’s; Laura’s disappearance; his attraction to Amy & how he believes she knows he is in trouble since he caught her going through his things [of course, tho, Amy really has no idea … she didn’t see what Jake thinks she did]; & about an old man who claims to be his grandfather. Suzanne stops Jake here, reminding him they do not even know their grandfather. Jake agrees, but he still wonders…. Suzanne then asks Jake how this all fits together & why it has him so on edge. Jake tells Suzanne he can’t explain right now & quickly changes the topic by looking at Pierce & telling him he (Jake) is counting on his (Pierce’s) skills as a private investigator & lawyer to determine what is really going on, if anything at all. Pierce informs Jake, based on what he has told him so far, as a lawyer, he would have to contact the police. Suzanne interrupts, pleading with her husband to forget his duties &, instead, focus on helping-protecting Jake in any way necessary. Somewhat disturbed, yet realizing the possible severity of the situations & wanting to help his wife’s cousin, Pierce agrees & tells Jake he will do what he can. Jake then gives his house keys to Pierce & Suzanne. They say a final goodbye, with Suzanne reassuring Jake they will be able to handle whatever comes & everything will be OK. Jake gets into his new truck & drives away.

Wendleton rings the doorbell, & Desmond opens the door & is stunned to see Wendleton. Desmond begins to slam the door, but Wendleton says “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Desmond cautiously re-opens the door & asks Wendleton what he wants. Wendleton replies by asking if he is going to be invited inside. Desmond says that depends. Wendleton says he better be invited in if he (Desmond) wants to see the boys or Michelle alive again. Desmond, with a sense of urgency, invites Wendleton inside, quickly ushering him into the library & closing the doors behind them as soon as they are in the room.

Vicky begins listening to the tape & becomes somewhat agitated at what she hears … or does not hear.

Steve & Timothy resume the search for the boys & Michelle, heading to Michelle’s office at the university as their 1st destination.

Carl defends his “business” caller by telling Christine it does not bother him. Christine brushes off his comment, jumping topics to tell Carl she is convinced Tammy is somehow connected to the boys’ latest disappearance. Carl reminds her the boys are missing in the 1st place because they ran away from the trouble at school. Christine, somewhat agitated, confirms she knows that, but still has a feeling Tammy is involved. Christine reminds Carl that Tammy kidnapped Donnie when she (Tammy) 1st came to town & his (Carl’s) parents (Desmond & Virginia) waited to tell her that Tammy is her sister; Christine believes she could’ve prevented Tammy from kidnapping Donnie if she had known. Carl reminds Christine his parents learned about Tammy being Christine’s sister after the kidnapping took place. Christine begrudgingly acknowledges that fact, but still contends something is “fishy” about it … after all, Tammy basically survived the kidnapping “scott free”. Carl starts to say something, but Christine suggests they choose another topic.
