NOW:
Lyrics to the “Face In The Crowd” theme song, written the evening of Wednesday, 01/27/1999

I took a break from writing storyline a few days & opted to write out the lyrics to the “Face In The Crowd” theme song, sung by Holly Dunn (HD) & Michael Martin Murphy (MM). You can hear & read details about it via THIS LINK HERE. [VERSE 3 & the CHORUS  are used for the opening sequence]

VERSE 1
MM … There are people everywhere
Both … Who’d give everything that they own for someone to care
HD … Lonely faces, without names
Both … Caught in an endless circle of empty games
MM … Shadows grow so dark
HD … On the light in a lonely heart
MM … But lying here in your arms
Both … Oh, how I try

CHORUS
Both … It’s hard to be just a face in the crowd, knowing that I’m loved by you. When the whole wide world gets narrowed down, baby it just takes 2
HD … Oh, oh, people as far as I can see, when you’re walking next to me
Both … My feet don’t even touch the ground. It’s hard to be a face, hard to be a face in the crowd.

VERSE 2:
MM … I have been fooled so many times
Both … In a world of hellos & goodbyes, where love’s hard to find
HD … Then you brought magic into my life
Both … There was never a doubt in my mind, I knew it was right
MM … I’m no longer just a face
HD … A runner in a lonely race
MM … Tears have all been replaced
Both … You make me smile
TO CHORUS

VERSE 3
MM … Just yesterday I used to feel so small
HD … didn’t count at all….
Both … Ohh, ohhhh…..
TO CHORUS
