This song debuted 01/05/1985, spent 22 weeks on the country charts & claimed #1. While not necessarily a favorite of mine, this song did get to me, even when it debuted, despite the fact I had no idea back then what the lyrics meant. Now, as an adult, I know, & in today’s society, the single is even more relevant, I think. It’s funny, tho, how songs from our childhood grab our attention even though we’ve no clue about the meaning….

“Love Don’t Care”
Earl Thomas Conley
Unlike the above tune, this song is undoubtedly a favorite of mine. It hit the airwaves 05/04/1985 (32 years ago this past Thursday!), spent 19 weeks on the country charts & claimed #1, his 2nd straight chart topper behind the above single. I knew about heartbreak as a kid & even more so now as an adult, so yes, I agree: love doesn’t care!
