#1
“What’s Forever For”
Michael Martin Murphey
[For more info about MMM’s hits & history, check out the 01/23/2016 “CarTunes Saturday” entry via THIS LINK HERE.] This song has been so relevant in so many ways over the years, & perhaps is even more relevant now than it was when it was popular. It originally debuted 06/19/1982, spent 24 weeks on the country charts & claimed #1; it crossed over & reached #19 on the Billboard Hot 100. This single was his 6th overall release & his 1st tune that cracked the Top 30, jump starting his career.

#2
“Trainwreck Of Emotion”
Lorrie Morgan
[For more info about LM’s hits & history, check out the 08/01/2015 “CD Showcase Memories” entry via THIS LINK HERE.] This song hit the airwaves 12/10/1988, spent 19 weeks on the country charts & peaked at #20 in early 1989. Similar to MMM’s tune above, this single jump started Morgan’s career, becoming her 1st release (after 4 priors) to crack the Top 50. Check out the video! Other familiar favorites include 1991’s “We Both Walk” (#3, 2 weeks), 1991-2’s “Except For Monday” (#4) & 1997’s “Good As I Was To You” (#4).

#3
“There’s No Getting Over Me”
Ronnie Milsap
[For more info about RM’s hits & history, check out the 10/28/2015 “Wednesday Wrap” entry via THIS LINK HERE.] I love this defiant song! This single debuted 07/04/1991 & spent 15 weeks on the country charts, claiming #1 for 2 weeks & also earning him the Country Male Vocal Grammy; it crossed over & reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

#4
“Let It Roll”
Mel McDaniel
[For more info about MM’s hits & history, check out the 11/14/2015 “CarTunes Saturday” entry via THIS LINK HERE.] Another song involving a train (just watch the video!), this single 1st graced the airwaves 03/16/1985, spent 21 weeks on the country charts & peaked at #6. It was sandwiched between 2 of his 3 Top 5 tunes: 1984-5’s “Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On” (#1) & 1985’s “Stand Up” (#5).
