“Straight Tequila Night”
John Anderson
[For more info about JA’s hits & history, check out the 07/29/2015 “CD Showcase Memories” entry via THIS LINK HERE & the 05/14/2016 “CarTunes Saturday” entry via THIS LINK HERE.] This song hit the airwaves 12/21/1991, spent 20 weeks on the country charts & claimed #1 in early 1992. At the time, it was his 1st Top 10 tune since 1986’s “Honky Tonk Crowd” (#10), prompting many to consider this a resurrection of his career, even though he’d been releasing tunes continuously through the years. From late 1991 to late 1994, he released 10 singles, 8 of which reached the Top 10.

“Tuckered Out”
Clint Black
[For more info about CB’s hits & history, check out the 04/29/2016 “CarTunes Saturday” entry via THIS LINK HERE.] Technically released as a single, this song debuted 02/05/1994, but spent only 1 week on the country charts, notching at #74. He performed the song for the 1st time at a 1993 Awards ceremony, with images of the different singers “name dropped” in the song behind him (watch the video).
