Ain’t it funny how you feel in 1 moment casts a spin on how you perceive a future moment? Take, for instance, my Saturday morning. When I woke up, I felt worse than I had the night before when I drove ~5 hours from MI to IL without eating anything (not something I recommend, by the way). In that instant, I thought: ‘No way am I leaving for the southwest US in a few days.’ But, with a 2+ hour rest in the early afternoon (after obtaining my mechanic’s 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis for going to work Monday; they did not have a chance to look at my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis Saturday), I suddenly felt much better … so good, in fact, I accomplished a couple “must do Saturday” tasks on my list (still have a lot to do) & THEN thought: ‘Well, yes, I can leave this coming week for the southwest US!’
So, what did I do? Well, with lessons & thoughts floating in my mind from my mini road trip test to western IL & central MI [see prior “Road Trips & Working” entries: 02/26/2017 (start, drive to Dixon IL) via THIS LINK HERE, 02/28/2017 (Dixon IL to Okemos MI drive) via THIS LINK HERE, 03/02/2017 (exploring Okemos MI) via THIS LINK HERE & 03/03/2017 (end) via THIS LINK HERE], I drafted a very rough outline of my travels in March! I was tempted to map out April (southeast US), May (northwest US) & June (northeast US) as well, but given many variables, I will wait to plan those until late March…. While I felt better Saturday afternoon, I still have to find out what is wrong with & have repairs done to my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis … & see the PCP for my followup (cough, severe ear infection, etc.), Tuesday, 03/07/2017.
Along my travels, I will have OC,SH Business Cards for those who want them. I’m thinking about offering a “delivery service” between destinations, if anyone needs anything delivered where I will be.
Please keep in mind the below itinerary is a ROUGH draft, just enough to give an idea, but with some built-in flexibility to alter the schedule to accommodate a potential shorter timeframe (if I can’t leave town as planned) or driving longer distances on days to make up some ground. My plans are rather “aggressive”, but I have a short month in which to travel due to a cousin’s 90th birthday party in northern IL, Saturday, 03/25/2017 … plus, this is the way I rolled for most of my 2002-2011 road trips (the main exception, my elaborately-planned September 2009 Route 66 journey) … & I plan to return to the southwest US again later in the year!
NOW is the time to confirm if you want me to visit &/or stay with you in March.
FYI: for each 24-hour period, I’m thinking of these time frames: 4-6 hours of work, 5-7 hours of driving, 3 hours of eating-visiting, 5-6 hours of sleeping & 2-7 hours of visiting, social media & crafting OC,SH.
