Do you remember-watch this series!?

“Motorweek” is a half-hour automotive show, created & executive-produced by John Davis. Through my college years, this was my Saturday morning show. I can’t remember the last time I’ve actually watched it, tho, partly because I have little interest in brand-new vehicles. The 1980 Citation & Fairmont in the above image is said to be from the show’s pilot episode. The program officially premiered 10/15/1981 … & has been on the air ever since. Originating in Owings Mills MD, this series is produced by Maryland Public Television & can be seen on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service), Discovery, Velocity & AFN (American Forces Network). MW tests more than 150 new vehicles every year. The Drivers’ Choice Awards, unique for their consumer focus, were launched in 1983 & have become among the auto industry’s most prestigious honors; they are awarded during the Chicago Auto Show, which explains why Davis can be seen hosting a CAS TV special every year for the station that calls itself “Chicago’s Very Own”. MW, which went into syndication in 1993, features these segments: Road Tests, Goss’ Garage, Quick Spin, Long Term Tests, MotorNews, Over The Edge, FYI & Retro Review. The current cast includes Davis, Pat Goss, Yolanda Vazquez & Zach Maskell. Past reporters include Lisa Barrow (who I most remember), Jennifer Khasnabis & Jessica Choksey.
