Welcome to this new theme! It is a direct replacement for “Thursday Theatre”. As the rollout continues this week, you will see that each weekly theme has a sibling; this theme’s sibling is “TV Tuesday”.

The theatrical opening night for this theme features 1976’s ‘Moving Violation’, with a collage of 2 images from the motion picture. Have you seen this movie!? What catches your spying-eye radar!?

‘Moving Violation’, released to theaters July 1976, was written by David R Osterhout, who makes a cameo in the film as the gas station attendant. While the movie takes place in Texas, filming was done entirely in southern California. Perhaps most significant, it is 1 of the 1st movies to feature airbags in cars. 1974-6, General Motors sold full-size automobiles with the Air Cushion Restraint System (option RPO code AR3), which featured air bags with lap belts, but not shoulder harnesses. The movie cast includes Stephen McHattie, Kay Lenz, Eddie Albert, Lonny Chapman, Will Geer, Jack Murdock, John S Ragin, Dennis Redfield, Michael Ross Verona, Francis De Sales & Dick Miller.
