Welcome to this new theme! It is a direct replacement for “Tuesday TV”. As the rollout continues this week, you will see that each weekly theme has a sibling; this theme’s sibling will premiere in this time slot, Thursday, 01/05/2017.
Meantime, the season premiere for this theme is “Dawson’s Creek”, with a collage of 2 images from it.
Do you remember this series!?
What catches your spying-eye radar!?
“Dawson’s Creek”, created by Kevin Williamson, debuted 01/20/1998 & ended 05/14/2003. It began & rose in popularity during the new craze of teen-themed motion pictures in the late 1990s, becoming a defining show for The WB network (today’s The CW network). Set in the fictional town of Capeside MA, filming was done in Wilmington NC. Williamson’s script (requested by executive Paul Stupin), was turned down by FOX, but picked up by The WB. In a somewhat weird twist, Procter & Gamble Productions (behind such daytime dramas as “As The World Turns” & “Another World”) was originally signed on as co-producer; however, when printed stories surfaced about racy dialogue & risqué plot lines in the series, P&G sold its interest in the show 3 months prior to the January 1998 debut. This helped the show generate an intense amount of publicity prior to the premiere. Despite all of the negative publicity, the show became a major, critical success, including a sound track which featured the pop hits “Kiss Me” & “I Don’t Want To Wait”. The cast includes regulars James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, Katie Holmes, Mary-Margaret Humes, John Wesley Shipp, Mary Beth Peil, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe & Busy Phillips. Among the long list of recurring or guest stars: Scott Foley & Jane Lynch.
