During surgery, doctors discover Jackie is pregnant, complicating her surgery. In a phone conversation with Steve (after he is notified Alicia about what has happened), 1 of the doctors inadvertently tells Steve “congratulations” for the baby. Steve freaks; he knows the baby could not be his.

Wendleton talks on the phone with his hired help, who is at Mercury-Plymouth Field. Wendleton asks the hired help if he thinks he can find the missing boys. The hired help’s response: “piece of cake”. Meanwhile, with Jackie’s Restaurant closed, the boys sneak into the kitchen area.

At the hospital, Carl tells Tammy that Olivia will be in a coma indefinitely. Mack’s surgery goes well, & he is quickly placed in a recovery room, where Cathy takes the time to visit with him.

In jail, Alicia shows some emotions because of the collision but Inmate # 1369 [upper teens, female, mysterious, rough-looking, tomboyish, dirty brown & coarse hair, dark brown eyes, tad taller than Alicia, somehow affiliated with Wendleton] does not buy it is genuine.

Still suffering flashbacks of the university bombing, the car accident & car explosion, Michelle tosses & turns in bed while Matthew & Timothy talk in the living room. Unable to sleep, Michelle seems to become disoriented & tries to escape via the bedroom window. But, Timothy, sensing something is amiss, rushes into the bedroom just in time to keep Michelle from escaping. Timothy calls for Matthew to help. The 2 calm Michelle down & encourage her to stay. Unconvinced they’ve successfully enticed Michelle to not go, Timothy decides to stay with her while Matthew continues searching for the boys.

The workers finish clearing away the collision scene debris, while Steve begins his investigation more earnestly. Richie goes to the hospital to be with Julia (& Erika). Michael continues searching for the boys. Jake heads home….

Taking the leadership role, Adam convinces Barry & Donnie they haven’t been found yet because nobody really cares about them. This hits Barry the hardest, since he already feels this way; however, Barry is unsure whether it is true or not because Adam is quite the popular guy. Donnie is not sure at 1st, but the mixture of few friends & his somewhat broken home situation convinces him Adam’s argument is true.

Wendleton’s hired help begins searching for the boys. He walks past the restaurant & peaks inside. Though he does not see the boys, he begins to break into the restaurant, thinking they could be there since nobody seems to have bothered to look there.

Having Barry & Donnie under his control, Adam proceeds to tell them the plan is to get out of town, however possible. While Barry & Donnie complain about leaving things behind, Adam convinces them getting out of town is for the best. Adam hears noises & shuffles them all into a dark area, hoping whoever is out there will go away.

Despite feeling hurt-angry at the news of Jackie’s pregnancy, Steve continues investigating the collision. Right away, he notices a difference in the skid marks made by Michelle’s Mercury Mountaineer versus the other vehicles in the collision.

Matthew & Michael happen to run into each other while searching for the boys. They talk, making a mental list of every place not yet searched, with Jackie’s Restaurant 1 of those places.

Richie comforts Julia (due to Jackie’s surgery), while Erika keeps a “watchful eye” on them.

Michelle, having finally fallen asleep, begins to murmur something about feeling guilty because of the collision. Timothy, however, tries to ignore her, disbelieving she could have caused the painful pileup.

Mack tells Cathy he wants to see Jake. Doubtful he will oblige, Cathy calls Jake at home anyway. Jake tells Cathy he does not want to come, mainly because he is tired & wants to go to sleep. Unbeknownst to him, Amy has left the hospital en route to Jake’s place.
