“Talking In Your Sleep”
Crystal Gayle
By the time this song hit the airwaves, Gayle had already notched 4 chart toppers, including her previous release, 1978’s “Ready For The Times To Get Better”. Then, this song debuted 06/17/1978 & spent 16 weeks on the charts, 2 of those at #1. Her follow-up tune, 1978-9’s “Why Have You Left The One You Left Me For” also topped the charts for 2 weeks in early 1979. A year ago, 1980’s “If You Ever Change Your Mind” (#1) was featured in this entry-link HERE, with some details & info about Gayle, if you’re interested in learning more about her.

#2
“Talking In Your Sleep”
The Romantics
5 years after Gayle’s tune, this song was released September 1983 from this Detroit MI band’s ‘In Heat’ album. It quickly climbed the charts, peaking at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 3 weeks in early 1984 & claiming #1 on both the Hot Dance Club Play & Album Rock Tracks charts. Elsewhere, the song claimed the top spot on 2 Canadian charts & reached #5 in Sweden. While this band had a few other releases, this by far, is their most-successful single, causing many to label them as a 1-hit wonder.
