In case you haven’t heard, the Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series. I keep thinking of those no longer with us to celebrate: Gram (Mom’s Mom), cousin Jerry, The Wombat Jan Howard Finder, fellow CHDer Suellen & so many others! Can you imagine the party happening at Wrigley North, with the likes of Harry Caray, Jack Brickhouse, Jack Quinlan, Ernie Banks, Ron Santo? I still don’t believe it. Our power went out in the top of the 10th inning last night! I had to pull the game up on my phone to watch the end! Yeah, there are so many people that waited a lifetime and never got to see this.
I say: You gotta believe!!!! Even in the darkest days. Epstein sure knows what he’s doing. Everywhere he’s gone in baseball, he’s built a winner. The Padres made it to the series after he left (tho they lost), the Red Sox became Champs twice. Now the Cubs. Let’s see what he can do in the next few years.
It’s a weird type of cool … or a cool type of weird … to know the Cubs actually won the World Series. Tough to believe, but oh so sweet … talk about a high. I kinda want to go to Wrigley Field just to see the marque!
