Since I owned a family of 1 particular nameplate & a pair of Caprice Classics (also had a 1989 CC Brougham), I have loved comparing old to new models, noticing styling cues & other idiosyncrasies. In this photo, I see several similar styling elements between the 2 competitors & years.
