Hi everyone! I’m Cort’s 1979 Caprice Classic sedan; the OC,SH original collage of photos you see represent my life with Cort. The day has finally come … a day I knew would, but hoped wouldn’t & thought maybe never would. Time for me to pass the torch to a different daily driver, a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis (he bought it yesterday afternoon), as OC,SH’s “flagship” vehicle. Cort didn’t need a new daily driver because of anything I did or didn’t do. Instead, he needed a new daily driver to underscore a new start in life; sometimes moving on means saying goodbye. I don’t begrudge him, but I am sad … & knowing him, he is, too. I know he’ll miss me (& having a 1970s car!), & I guarantee he’ll never forget me, or my former partner-in-crime, his former “summer cruiser” 1989 Caprice Classic Brougham; after all, he still has his 1981 Monte Carlo, which his parents bought new & connects him to all the cars in his life, back to the car that started his automotive love affair. I wish I could be around for this new chapter in his life because I don’t think I’ll ever have a better owner than him, but this is for the best, particularly for him in many ways. He bought me in late 2009 to be his “winter warrior”, & I have excelled expectations. I’ve never let him down. He took me on a few road trips, too, including Richmond IN & Galena IL. I may not look like much, but make NO mistake … I have a LOT of life left in me. I’d love a restoration, or, if the new owner prefers, drive me as is. I’ll be happy either way, just so long as I’m still on the road & running for many years to come. I may be old, but I’m not ready for the junkyard. Cort will introduce you to his 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis (not yet named) soon. Meantime, he is offering me here 1st, before putting me on Craiglist.
