Who hasn’t heard of Rogers!? She is an actress, dancer & singer, best known for her movies & musicals in which she was partnered with Fred Astaire. Her career also included stage, radio & TV appearances. An only child, she was born in Independence MO & raised by her grandparents in Kansas City. When she was 9, her mother remarried & Rogers took his surname, Rogers, even though she was never formally adopted. The trio moved to Forth Worth TX. Her career then spanned 57 years, 1930-1987, & included many memorable roles. Among her TV appearances: “What’s My Line” (1954, 1957, 1963), “The Jack Benny Program” (1957), “The Dupont Show With June Allyson” (10/18/1959), “Here’s Lucy” (1971) & “The Love Boat” (1979).
