When I bought the 1979 Caprice Classic sedan in late 2009, I wanted a coupe, like this 1978 model:

What I like about this 3-year generation (1977-1978-1979) of the Caprice is that the coupes had an aerocoupe-like back window & each year has distinctive front & rear features. The 1977 model’s grill was “mesh” like, while the 1978 model, as you can see, has an egg-crate like grill. The 1979 model is different still, with “staggered” headlights.
