I’ve endured 4 open heart surgeries: 11/1977, 03/1987, 01/06/2003 & 11/11/2011. The 1st 3 were performed at Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital; I chose to have the 3rd (2003) OHS done there because, since I’d be sleeping during the surgery, I’d rather the surgeons feel at home, that being CMH. In this 3rd week of highlighting CMH’s history (2nd entry was last week HERE), this is the building I remember from my childhood:
