‘Mr & Mrs Smith’ is a 1941 “screwball” comedy, written by Norman Krasna & directed by Alford Hitchcock. The working titles were ‘Who Was That Lady I Seen You With?’ & ‘No For An Answer’. Released to theaters 01/31/1941, the film was a hit, though it wasn’t 1 of Hitchcock’s best efforts. The cast includes Carole Lombard, Robert Montgomery, Gene Raymond, Jack Carson, Philip Merivale, Lucile Watson, William Tracy, Charles Halton, Esther Dale, Emma Dunn, Betty Compson, Patricia Farr, William Edmunds & Adele Pearce. 43 minutes into the movie, when the camera pulls back, Hitchcock can be seen passing Montgomery in front of his apartment building.
