This Model U Deluxe came with an electric starter, dashboard with speedometer, heater, cigarette lighter, windshield wipers & radio … & was at least a generation ahead of its time in terms of operator comfort. FYI: Minneapolis-Moline was formed by the merger of Minneapolis Steel & Machinery, Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company & Moline Plow Company in 1929. Minneapolis Steel brought tractor experience to the group, having produced tractors for Case & Bull, along with its own line of Twin City tractors. In 1963, M-M was purchased by White Motors, which dropped the M-M name in 1974.
