Synopsis of Month 2, Week 1, Days 4-5

Month 2, Week 1, Day 4 (same day as Day 3’s fully-scripted episode)

Matthew & Tammy talk over dinner, which they’ve done “picnic”-style at Boulevard Park. Matthew sees it as a soothing break from the day’s events, but Tammy sees it as a romantic rendezvous. As such, Tammy comforts Matthew & lets him “pour his heart out” about how distraught he is regarding Jenna’s murder. In a touching, too-close-for-comfort moment (for Matthew, that is), Matthew quickly “wakes up”, backs away from Tammy & hurriedly leaves, telling Tammy he has to go pick up Michelle. Tammy tries to get him to relax & stay, but Matthew is too rattled. After Matthew leaves, Tammy says to herself: ‘1 day, Matthew, 1 day….’

Virginia & Desmond & the rest of the Rockingham clan are spending time together at the Rockingham mansion. They mostly reminisce about Jenna, with “flashback scenes” intermixed.

Michael & Jackie are in a minor scene.

When Matthew picks up Michelle at Manchester University following her meeting, he does his best to try to hide the guilt he is feeling for what (almost) happened with Tammy. Michelle notices something wrong & asks, but Matthew explains it is nothing other than Jenna’s murder. Matthew drives them to the Rockingham mansion to be with the rest of the family.

Month 2, Week 1, Day 5 (next day)

As the reality of what happened sweeps across town, Christine falls into a state of deep depression & refuses to do anything or see anyone. This leaves Carl to make the funeral arrangements for Jenna. Matthew, Amy & Richie all pitch in to help him.

With Carl preoccupied, Donnie becomes an unruly, angry, depressed 10-year-old with no real adult guidance. Desmond & Virginia offer to take Donnie into their home on what is understood & thought to be a temporary basis to help Carl.

Steve begins investigating Jenna’s murder.

Michael & Jake meet.

Cathy talks with the internet user online.

With Donnie now in Desmond & Virginia’s custody, Carl makes the heartbreaking decision to separate from Christine, as her deterioration is just too much for him to handle.
