Do you remember this series!? What catches your spying-eye radar!?

“Simon & Simon”, a detective series, originally ran on CBS, 1981-1989. The original 1978 pilot was set in Florida, but when CBS picked up the show, the characters’ home was changed to San Diego CA, where CBS had set up shooting for the 1st season. Then, production was moved to Los Angeles, even though the setting remained San Diego. CBS was set to cancel the show after Season 1, but the network gave the show a new life by moving it to Thursday nights following fan-favorite “Magnum PI”. The move elevated “Simon & Simon” to an instant hit, thanks in part to a cross-over story that started on “Magnum” & ended on “Simon & Simon”. Gerald McRaney (“Rick”) & Jameson Parker (“AJ”) portrayed the title characters, with AJ getting to own & drive the 1957 Bel Air convertible in the image. The cast also included Mary Carver (“Celilia”, the brothers’ mom), Eddie Barth, Jeannie Wilson, Tim Reid & Joan McMurtey.
