#1 “Something To Talk About” | Bonnie Raitt
Written by Shirley Eikhard, Raitt recorded this song in 1990 for her 1991 album ‘Luck Of The Draw’. The single was released 05/20/1991 & peaked that year at #5 on the Adult Contemporary, #12 on the Mainstream Rock & #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It also won Raitt the 1992 Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Grammy Award. Among several cover versions, this tune was the theme for the 1995 CBS sitcom “Women Of The House”, a spinoff of “Designing Women”, starring Delta Burke as Suzanne Sugarbaker.

#2 “Full Grown Fool” | Mickey Gilley
This song (1 of my favorites of his) came at the end of Gilley’s career; it hit the airwaves 04/04/1987, spent 14 weeks on the country charts & peaked at #16. It was his last Top 20 hit. During his late 1968 to mid 1989 career, this Natchez MS-native singer-songwriter-pianist notched 17 chart toppers & 17 additional Top 10 tunes. Other familiar favorites include: 1974’s “Room Full Of Roses” (#1), 1976’s “Don’t The Girls All Get Prettier At Closing Time” (#1), 1980’s “Stand By Me” (#1), 1981’s “A Headache Tomorrow” (#1), 1981-2’s “Lonely Nights” (#1) & 1983’s “Paradise Tonight” (#1; duet with Charly McClain). A tie-in with the “Candy Man” same name songs featured in “Wednesday Wrap”: Gilley & McClain’s cover of Roy Orbison’s song peaked at #5 in mid 1984.
