In the United States, today is National Have Fun At Work Day, National Kazoo Day & National Blueberry Pancake Day! Maybe you could celebrate by eating blueberry pancakes & playing a kazoo … at work?

“major malfunction”

Where were you!? 30 years ago today (01/28/1986) was a bright & sunny Tuesday. 2 days prior, the Chicago Bears had won Super Bowl 20. The mission was to have been the 1st to feature a teacher in space. But, 73 seconds into the flight, Challenger broke apart, resulting in the deaths of 7 crew members. A nation, some of whom were watching live, mourned. The President delayed the State Of The Union Address, scheduled for that night, 1 week &, instead, addressed the nation from the Oval Office. 3 days later, at the memorial service, he said: “Sometimes, when we reach for the stars, we fall short. But we must pick ourselves up again & press on despite the pain.”
