2nd entry in this theme’s 3-part series sparked by photos taken by OC,SHer DOUG T at Country Classic Cars (Staunton IL) in 2014: iconic emblem for the Chrysler 300.
This particular emblem is from 1964’s 300K, part of the original 300 “letter series”, 1955-1965. Since these cars are among the vehicles focusing on performance by United States manufacturers after World War II, they are considered 1 of the muscle car’s ancestors. The “300” designation was also used on full-size cars 1962-1971, replacing the 1961 Windsor. Then, in 1979, the “300” name was used on an option package for the Cordoba. “300” was also used on sedans 1999-2004 (front wheel drive) & 2005-today (rear wheel drive).
