‘Trading Places’, written by Timothy Harris & Herschel Weingrod, is often noted as a modern version of Mark Twain’s “The Prince & The Pauper” with additional resemblances to Twain’s “The Million Pound Bank Note”. The movie entered theaters 06/08/1983, despite scenes around Christmas & New Year’s, to positive reviews & major audiences.
