#1 “It’s Christmas” | Ronnie Milsap
This song originally appeared on Milsap’s only Christmas album, 1986’s ‘Christmas With Ronnie Milsap’, recorded & released near the end of his radio career. The album features traditional holiday tunes & a poem Milsap wrote to describe his feelings for Christmas. I have this song on an album series entitled ‘A Country Christmas’.

#2 “Mary’s Boy Child” | Harry Belafonte
Written by Jester Hairston, this song traces an origin to a birthday-related song Hairston wrote for a friend. When Walter Schumann asked Hairston to write some Christmas songs for his new Hollywood Choir, Hairston remembered the song he had written for his friend & wrote new lyrics to it. When Belafonte heard the choir perform the song, he asked permission to record it, which he did so in 1956 for his album ‘An Evening With Belafonte’. An edited version was released as a single, which claimed #1 in England (November 1957). Several artists have covered this carol, including Andy Williams, Anne Murray, Nat King Cole, The Letterman, Jim Reeves, Roger Whittaker, John Denver & Harry Connick Jr.

#3 “The Most Inconvenience Christmas” | Oak Ridge Boys
As I’ve mentioned before, I love playing lesser-known songs on my radio shows. Sometimes, people remember them; such was the case with this song. My cousin & OC,SHer JENNIFER S M requested this song during this show because she remembered hearing it for the 1st time during my 2009 Christmas Eve broadcast! This song appears on their album ‘An Inconvenient Christmas’, originally released in 2002, which also includes holiday standards & “I Pray On Christmas” & “A Christmas Love Song”.
