2 songs from the 7:30p-8:30p timeframe of my 04/27/2007 radio show….

This song hit the airwaves 09/03/1988, spent 19 weeks on the country charts & peaked at #9. The duo (brothers Howard & David) 1st hit the music scene in 1976 with their Billboard Hot 100 chart topper “Let Your Love Flow”. Then, they switched to country, scoring their 1st chart topper with 1979’s “IF I Said You Have A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me” (3 weeks). Their country career (lasted until early 1994) featured 10 chart toppers & 16 additional Top 10s. My favorites of theirs, along with this song, are 1981’s “Do You Love As Good As You Look” (#1), 1982’s “Redneck Girl” (#1), 1984’s “Forget About Me” (#4), 1987’s “Crazy From The Heart” (#3) & 1990’s “I Could Be Persuaded” (#7).

#2
I played this song for a friend who requested it that evening. Released as the 3rd single from this Australian band’s 2nd album ‘Affirmation’, this song reached #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 & #10 on the Adult Contemporary charts. In the band’s native Australia, it reached #16; elsewhere, it managed #12 in Canada & #14 in England, while claiming #1 in Finland & Norway. The band’s 1st entry in the United States was 1996’s “I Want You” (#4, BH100).
