Back in High School, a fellow orchestra member often gave me & my cello a ride home; she’d often pop this song in the cassette deck as we left school. On/during this show, I mentioned we were probably all thinking it was time to fly as we “bolted” from work that afternoon. Originally released in 1978, this single notched at #56 on the Billboard Hot 100. Re-released in 1980 from a Greatest Hits album, it stalled at #77. The band’s very next release, 1980’s “Keep On Loving You”, was their 1st big hit & sparked a string of success.

This song (this band’s best-charting tune) debuted 04/16/1977, spent 10 weeks on the country charts & peaked at #51. However, it faired far better on the pop charts, reaching #14 on the Billboard Hot 100. This southern-rock band formed in Spartanburg SC.
