THEME = recreation: featuring Cyndi Lauper & Robert Ellis Orrall
2 songs from the 10:30p-11p timeframe of my 04/28/2006 radio show….
#1
This song was released 01/17/1984 as the 2nd single from her album ‘She’s So Unusual’ & became her 1st #1 in the United States, claiming the top spot on both the Billboard Hot 100 & Adult Contemporary charts. It also claimed #1 in Canada & notched in the Top 10 of 12 additional charts. The song was well-received by critics as well. Check out the old trailer-camper in the video!
#2
During my college radio show, I closed each with “Treasures For The Road” by Andy & Terry Murray. This time, I opted for this as the closing song. Debuting 11/14/1992, this song spent 20 weeks on the charts & peaked at #19 in early 1993. It proved to be this Winthrop MA-native singer-songwriter’s only Top 20. Neither of his other 2 releases reached the Top 30, with 1993’s “A Little Bit Of Her Love” coming closest (#31).
