CD SHOWCASE MEMORIES

THEME = recreation: featuring Exile & T Graham Brown

2 songs from the 8:30p-9p timeframe of my 04/21/2006 radio show….

#1
After pop success with 1978’s “Kiss You All Over”, this band from Richmond KY switched to the country genre & had a successful run late 1983 to mid 1991. This song debuted 09/01/1990, spent 20 weeks on the charts & peaked at #7. It proved to be their last Top 10, as their last release, 1991’s “Even Now” topped at #17. Through their country career, this band notched 10 #1 tunes, including 1983-4’s “Woke Up In Love”, 1985-6’s “I Could Get Used To You” & 1987-8’s “I Can’t Get Close Enough”.

#2
This Atlanta GA-native singer-songwriter also acted in the movies ‘Greased Lightning’, ‘The Farm’ & ‘Heartbreak Hotel’. This song hit the airwaves 09/12/1987 (a week before my birthday!), spent 22 weeks on the charts & peaked at #4. It was his 6th straight Top 10, a streak that stretched to 9, sparked by 1985-6’s “I Tell It Like It Used To Be” (#7). Of 22 releases mid 1985 to late 2003, 11 were Top 10 tunes, with 3 of those claiming #1: 1986’s “Hell & High Water”, 1987’s “Don’t Go To Strangers” & 1988’s “Darlene”.
