SPECIAL NOTE:
This past weekend, I was thrilled to find playlists from my mid-1990s college radio shows (WBKE, N Manchester IN) & some script of how I started & ended each show. As time allows, I plan to publish that info under the “My Radio Shows” links on the main page.
THEME = recreation: featuring Eddy Raven & Cher
2 songs from the 8p-8:30p timeframe of my 04/21/2006 radio show….
#1
This Lafayette LA-native singer-songwriter-guitarist had worked as a staff writer for Acuff-Rose Publishing Company. This song debuted 12/07/1985, spent 23 weeks on the charts & peaked at #3 in early 1986. It was his 6th straight Top 10, a string that stretched to 17 through mid 1990, included 6 chart toppers & was sparked by 1984’s “I Got Mexico” (#1).
#2
Written by Diane Warren, this song was released 06/01/1989 from Cher’s 19th album ‘Heart Of Stone’. Considered a huge comeback hit, this single reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 & claimed #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart. It also reached the Top Spot in Australia, Canada & Norway, while notching in the Top 10 of 6 other charts: Belgium (#6), Canada (#7), Netherlands (#4), Ireland (#6), New Zealand (#3) & England (#6).
