I owned a Chris-Craft for a while… a lady paid me with it since she didn’t have cash to cover the bill for her remodeling. If I’d only known what a gold mine that boat was, I’d have taken better care of it!!!

When my Dad was getting into charter boat fishing on Lake Michigan, he bought a used 1963 Thompson all-wood boat and totally refinished it from the bottom up. It came with two Homelite motors on it that gave my Dad nothing but trouble. Now, my Dad was a pretty fair mechanic and could make anything go, but those two Homelites really kicked his butt. He finally gave in and traded those two for a pair of Johnson (ironic, no?) outboards and never had a bit of trouble with them.
