Kim Wilde is an English singer-author who also worked in radio & TV. Most of her singles faired well in her native England; in the United States, she is considered a ‘1-hit Wonder’ for this song, which is 1 of a few cover versions of The Supremes’ 1966 hit. Wilde’s re-worked version hit the airwaves 10/13/1986 from her 5th album ‘Another Step’ & climbed the charts, claiming #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Elsewhere, it also topped charts in Australia, Canada, & Norway, while reaching the Top 10 in 5 other countries, including #2 in England.

Tex Williams is a Ramsey IL-native singer-songwriter-guitarist who also acted in many western movies & hosted his own TV series, “House Party”, in 1958; he died of cancer, 10/11/1985. This song, his only chart topper, debuted 07/05/1947 & spent 23 weeks on the charts, 16 of those at #1. It was the 2nd of a string of 8 straight Top 10s to start his singing career.
