A Bessemer City NC native & an Atlanta GA native….

#1a
Jimmy Wayne is a Bessemer City NC-native singer-songwriter who had a brief career in the mid 2000s. This song, his debut release, hit the airwaves 02/08/2003; it spent 28 weeks on the charts, 3 of those at its peak of #3. This single crossed over & reached #32 on the Billboard Hot 100. His follow-up release, 2003-4’s “I Love You This Much” peaked at #6.

#1b
5 years & 5 releases (only 1 Top 15) after his 1st Top 10, he notched his only chart topper. This song debuted 04/12/2008 & spent 28 weeks on the charts, 2 of those at #1. It escalated on the charts during my August 2008 road trip east, & I remember hearing it quite a few times during that journey. [I also remember playing it loudly when the Chicago Cubs lost in the MLB playoffs to the LA Dodgers….] Of 4 more releases late 2008 to early 2010, only 1 reached the Top 20: 2008-9’s “I Will” (#18).

#2
Freddy Weller is an Atlanta GA-native singer-songwriter-guitarist. He began his career on the “Atlanta Jubilee” (E Point GA), worked as a guitarist for Billy Joe Royal & Joe South, & was a member of Paul Revere & The Raiders (1967-1971). As a solo artist, he notched 6 Top 10s. This song, his solo debut & arguably his signature tune, was released 04/12/1969 & spent 17 weeks on the charts, 2 of those at its peak of #2. His other Top 10s: 1969’s “These Are Not My People” (#5), 1970-1’s “The Promised Land” (#3, 2 weeks), 1971’s “Indian Lake” (#3, 2 weeks), 1971’s “Another Night Of Love” (#5) & 1973’s “Too Much Monkey Business” (#8).
