Twisted Sister is from Long Island, New York, originally formed as Silver Star in 1972. This song hit the airwaves 04/27/1984 as the lead single from the band’s 3rd album ‘Stay Hungry’. This song peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, their only Top 40 there. Internationally, it reached #5 in Canada, #2 in New Zealand & #10 in Sweden. The band had 2 other widely popular tunes: 1984’s “I Wanna Rock” & 1985’s “Leader Of The Pack”.

Randy VanWarmer is an Indian Hills CO-native singer-songwriter. While he wrote several songs for The Oak Ridge Boys (including “I Guess It Never Hurts To Hurt Sometimes”), he is in the ‘1-hit Wonder’ category as a solo artist for this song, which he wrote. This single debuted February 1979 & claimed #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, while notching at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached #8 in England. Many artists have covered this song, including Dolly Parton in 1996; her version reached #62 on the country charts, besting VanWarmer’s version which had peaked at #71 on the country charts.
